Business school programs
Swiss top schools divide their programs into bachelor’s, master’s, and postgraduate (doctoral) programs according to educational levels.
Depending on the chosen program, undergraduate examinations in Switzerland culminate in one of the following degrees:
BA | Bachelor of Arts, ordinary or with honors |
BBA | Bachelor of Business Administration |
EBBA | Executive Bachelor of Business Administration |
Master’s students study in programs leading to the following degrees:
- MA/MS;
- Professional – Master of Management, Marketing, Management, Finance, etc.;
- MBA – Master of Business Administration.
Swiss programs leading to MA/MS degrees tend to cost less, but graduate salaries are also somewhat lower.
Specialists with a master’s degree, long-term (7 years or more) work experience, and significant career achievements can continue their studies at a graduate school in Switzerland to receive a DBA – Doctor of Business Administration or PhD degree indicating a specific subject area. Since graduate school, including the dissertation, takes at least three to four years, these programs can often be completed online without interrupting your job.
As a rule, in graduate school ranking, work is underway to translate practical knowledge acquired during professional activity into theoretical knowledge – developing new business models.
The programs offered by Swiss top schools aim not only at training general specialists in business, management, and finance who can work effectively in leadership positions in any company but also at training more narrowly focused, industry-specific managers—for example, for the oil and gas sector, tourism and hospitality, and sports.
An essential feature of Swiss programs is their international ranking – significant attention is paid to the study of intercultural features of doing business and international legislation, which increases the attractiveness of school graduates in the labor market.
